Film makers love the Prague Congress Centre
It is no surprise that Prague has been an attraction for film crews for a long time. Apart from the obvious beauty of the city, there are also handy teams that incoming producers can rely on. Thanks to Czech filmmaking craft and legendary architecture is the Vyšehrad based Prague Congress Centre one of the favourite options of film producers.
Meeting rooms can easily turn into central headquarters where key decisions are made. Also spectacular premises of the Congress Foyer can be seen for example in the American series
Whiskey Cavalier (2019) which brought most of its filming including the pilot and the 2
nd and 13th episode called
Czech Mate, to Prague. A good fan can also spot shots from the PCC in the horror movie
The Omen (2006) or in the series
Crossing lines (2013-2015) which brought
Donald Southerland to Prague.
Even fans of biographical sports movies would find something interesting being filmed in the PCC. An engaging story of two tennis players and their struggle – one of the most exciting of all times – is portrayed in the Borg McEnroe (2017) movie which also brought Swedish charismatic actors Stellan Skarsgård and Sverriar Gudnason to the Prague Congress Centre. From the well-reviewed movies that where filmed here let’s not forget also a successful Czech HBO series called Bez vědomí (2019). And the Czech classic I enjoy the world with you (1982) was shot here as well.
Czech filmmakers like to return to the Prague Congress Centre. For example, the scenes of the series
Wonderful times (2009),
Přijela pouť (2018) or film
Pražské orgie (2019) were shot here. Prague and our premises are a tempting place also for crime series of German productions such as Krimi Zurich.
Advantages of the Prague Congress Centre are the magnificent premises and the architectural brutalist uniqueness. Thanks to this combination, film making crews can use the diversity of PCC’s space to simulate footage from multiple environments and buildings. One part of the congress foyer can be turned into a modern open space, while on the first floor there is a government crisis management meeting in the VIP lounge.
Making adverts interesting at the Prague Congress Centre
Did you know that Arnold Schwarzenegger also came here to shoot the Mobile Strike ad under our iconic chandelier? The South Boardroom 1 works absolutely magically for the TV spots. Why else would Ivan Zachariáš choose it to shoot there the official spot of the 52nd KVIFF, where Josef Somr believes that Bartoška and Zaoralová are selling him pots? Even Mall. Tv did not want to miss this unique lounge in the opening jingles to start their broadcasting. And many other companies used PCC premises for their shooting as well e.g. Pilsner Urquell, Guiness, Amazon, Huawei or Samsung. And last but not least is the Czech EU Presidency spot. Do you remember how Jarda Jágr flicked a sugar cube and Petr Čech fortunately caught it? Unforgettable, right? Between those as shot at the PCC are also some that have been awarded - for example set of spots for Mailchimp by the studio Unit+Sofa with location hunters SONS Locations.
